Sony Cuts Low-Effort Titles from PlayStation Store

The modern gaming experience has made it easier for gamers to access a vast number of games, with just a few button presses away. However, this convenience comes at the cost of low-quality titles flooding digital storefronts. Some companies, like Steam, have taken steps to clean up their stores by banning games that force players to watch ads.

Now, Sony has followed suit. Following an investigation by IGN, PlayStation has begun removing some questionable titles, including those from RandomSpin, a developer known for creating low-effort games. Titles such as Supermarket Simulator Pro and Clothing Supermarket Store Simulator have been removed from the storefront, while others like Mechanic Supermarket Simulator remain.

However, this move may not be enough to combat the problem of low-effort titles on the PSN. Other developers are already releasing new games that seem designed to take up space, such as Toy Supermarket Simulator and Supermarket Simulator Holidays 2025, both listed as “Announced” and potentially released at any point.

While this is a step in the right direction, it’s clear that more needs to be done to protect gamers from low-quality titles. By taking these steps, Sony can help maintain a better gaming experience for its users.
