Reality TV star and daughter of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky, Sophia Umansky, has revealed the hair loss side effect she’s experiencing after taking weight-loss medication. In a recent TikTok video, she shared photos and footage showing the accumulation of hair in her shower and sink.
Sophia, 25, took Mounjaro for weight loss, which she’s been using for four months. The FDA-approved medication is highly effective but has also caused her significant hair loss. She attributed this to rapid weight loss due to the medication, not consuming enough vitamins or protein, as well as stress from filming and other commitments.
Sophia has been taking supplements such as OMI hair growth peptides, collagen, and Grüns vitamins to combat the side effect. Her comments align with the condition known as telogen effluvium, which occurs when hair loss is more likely due to rapid weight changes.
Several users on TikTok responded to Sophia’s video, offering suggestions and advice on how to manage her hair loss. However, some also pointed out the potential need for a thyroid check-up, given her recent weight loss.
