South Sudan Clashes: 14 Soldiers Killed in Market Dispute

A deadly shootout in a South Sudan market left at least 14 soldiers dead and several injured after a suspected love triangle dispute turned violent. The incident began between two officers, who reportedly quarreled over the same woman. The situation escalated into a full-blown clash, with violence spreading to nearby checkpoints and barracks.

The army has confirmed that six SPLA-IO soldiers and eight SSPDF soldiers were killed in the fighting. One civilian was caught in the crossfire, but their condition remains unknown. An investigation has been launched into the incident, which the army says was not politically motivated.
