Southern France Wildfire Claims Life, Hundreds Evacuated

A massive wildfire has swept through parts of southern France, claiming one life and leaving another missing. The blaze, which broke out on Tuesday near La Ribaute in the Aude region, has already destroyed over 13,000 hectares (50 sq miles) of land, an area larger than Paris.

At least 25 homes have been destroyed, with more than 2,500 households left without electricity. To combat the blaze, over 1,800 firefighters and 500 vehicles were deployed to the affected area. The incident has forced thousands to evacuate their homes, causing significant disruption in the region.
