SpaceX launched a batch of Starlink satellites from California on May 23, marking the start of a busy weekend for the company. The Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink 11-16 mission successfully landed its booster, B1075, on SpaceX’s Of Course I Still Love You drone ship in the Pacific Ocean. This was the 450th successful landing of a Falcon 9 rocket, and the 18th launch of B1075.
The launch marked one of several potential Starlink launches between Friday and Sunday, with two other missions planned to test the next-generation Starship rocket. SpaceX’s Starlink network has over 7,000 operational satellites in orbit, providing high-speed internet connectivity to nearly all parts of the planet. The company’s Falcon 9 rockets have become increasingly reliable, with a success rate of over 95%.
