SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base

SpaceX is set to launch its Falcon 9 rocket from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California this weekend, marking the first time since July 31. The launch will deploy 24 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit.

The launch window is set for 7:05 p.m. PT on Saturday, August 9, with a backup opportunity available the next day. SpaceX will provide a live webcast of the launch on its website, starting about five minutes before liftoff.

Viewers can catch the launch from various locations in California, including public sites such as 13th Street and Arguello Boulevard, Floradale Avenue and West Ocean Avenue, and Renwick Avenue and West Ocean Avenue. Other cities like Long Beach, Lake Forest, and San Diego may also see the rocket soar overhead.

Residents of nearby counties could hear sonic booms from the launch, while the Falcon 9 rocket’s booster is expected to land on a SpaceX drone ship in the Pacific Ocean following the launch. The mission will use the company’s two-stage 230-foot Falcon 9 rocket to deliver the Starlink satellites into orbit.
