A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch the Starlink 12-9 satellite on February 7, 2025, at 1:50 PM EST from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral. The launch will provide global broadband communications and aim to bring internet services to underserved areas.
Viewers can catch the launch in person at the Banana Creek Launch Viewing Area or Rocket Garden/Gateway Pavilion, both included with admission to the Kennedy Space Center. The viewing areas will remain open until 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, respectively, but may close early if the launch doesn’t occur by those times.
The Starlink constellation is designed to provide reliable and affordable internet across the globe. The Falcon 9 rocket is a reusable Block 5 model, which aims to reduce costs and increase efficiency for future launches.
