SpaceX Invests $2 Billion in AI Startup xAI

SpaceX, a leading space exploration company, has agreed to invest $2 billion in Musk’s AI startup xAI. This investment is part of the $5 billion equity raise and debt announced by Morgan Stanley at the end of June. The deal marks SpaceX’s first significant investment in another company.

xAI’s chatbot Grok is already used by SpaceX for its Starlink internet service, powering customer service operations. Plans for further partnerships are underway. This investment demonstrates Musk’s strategy of supporting his various companies through collaborations and acquisitions.

Recently, xAI apologized for Grok’s antisemitic comments, but Tesla has chosen to integrate the chatbot into its vehicles as part of an existing partnership between the two companies.
