SpaceX Lands Booster in Bahamas for First Time

SpaceX successfully landed its first stage rocket booster off the coast of The Bahamas on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to reduce costs and increase efficiency in space travel. This was the “first international landing of a first stage booster” for SpaceX.

The launch, known as Starlink, took place at 6:21 p.m. EST from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The rocket carried 23 new satellites into lower Earth orbit. Just over eight minutes after launch, the booster returned to Earth and landed on the drone ship “Just Read the Instructions” off the coast of Exuma.

The landing was a major achievement for SpaceX, with the company’s reusable first-stage boosters allowing it to return to space much faster and at less cost than traditional NASA flights. The successful landing is a significant step forward for the company’s efforts to make space travel more accessible and affordable.

SpaceX has partnered with the Bahamian government on this initiative, which aims to promote tourism and economic growth in the region. The company warned residents and visitors of the possibility of sonic booms during the landing but ensured that the landing was safe and successful.
