SpaceX Launches 19 Starlink Satellites from Vandenberg

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 19 Starlink satellites on Thursday, July 27, at 11:30 a.m. from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The rocket successfully completed its second stage deployment about an hour after liftoff, marking the 27th successful launch and landing of its first-stage booster.

The launch trajectory took the rocket in a southwesterly direction, rather than following the California coastline. This was likely due to the payload’s need to be placed in space at a specific location.

Starlink has launched over 9,300 satellites so far, with more than 8,000 remaining in orbit. The company aims to deliver reliable high-speed internet even when obstacles block the connection.

The system is designed to automatically switch between satellites for terminals with stable and unobstructed connections. This allows users to maintain a stable internet link despite temporary obstructions.

In addition to this launch, Starlink plans to add more than 400 satellites to its polar inclination by the end of 2025, which will double the capacity for Alaskan customers and other high-latitude locations.

This was the 31st SpaceX launch from Vandenberg since the start of the year. The company is also preparing for a launch on August 9, with another mission planned to deliver Starlink satellites into space between 7:05 and 11:05 p.m.
