SpaceX successfully launched 26 Starlink satellites from California on Monday evening, marking the company’s third Falcon 9 rocket flight. The launch occurred at 11:36 p.m. EDT and deployed the satellites to low Earth orbit in approximately eight minutes.
The reused first stage, designated as B1093, landed safely on a droneship in the Pacific Ocean after completing its second burn of the upper stage. This marks the third Starlink deployment for the stage, following previous flights in May and June 13.
The launch is part of SpaceX’s efforts to expand its broadband internet network, which now comprises over 7,760 active units. Although this latest mission did not include direct-to-cell enabled satellites, it contributes to the growing Starlink constellation.
Earlier, SpaceX had launched a similar mission from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on June 13, completing the final set of satellites needed for the company’s first-generation direct-to-cell constellation.
