SpaceX will launch its next robotic resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 21, with a live broadcast available at NASA’s website and Space.com. The Falcon 9 rocket, topped with an uncrewed Dragon cargo capsule, is set to lift off from Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 4:15 a.m. EDT.
The CRS-32 mission will carry approximately 6,700 pounds of cargo, including food, equipment, and scientific experiments such as atomic clocks and air quality monitoring systems. These experiments are designed to test fundamental physics concepts and could have implications for future missions to the moon and Mars.
Dragon will return to Earth in May, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean off California’s coast with a load of scientific gear. The spacecraft is uniquely equipped to make this return trip, while other resupply craft like Cygnus and Progress are designed to burn up upon re-entry.
The launch marks the 32nd commercial resupply services contract between SpaceX and NASA, and will be live-streamed on Space.com.
