SpaceX Launches Falcon 9 Rocket with Starlink Satellites

SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Friday night, carrying 24 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit. The launch took place at 8:52 p.m. and was part of the company’s efforts to provide internet connectivity worldwide.

A second launch is scheduled for this week, with liftoff set for 8:51 p.m. Friday from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E). A backup window is available until 9:52 p.m. if the initial launch fails. If that doesn’t happen on Friday, another opportunity will be available on Saturday at 9:26 p.m.

The first-stage booster is expected to land safely on a drone ship in the Pacific Ocean shortly after takeoff, resulting in minimal disruption to local residents. A live webcast of the launch can be accessed on SpaceX’s X account or X TV app about five minutes before liftoff. This marks the 14th time this specific booster has been used for a SpaceX mission.
