SpaceX is set to launch its final Falcon 9 rocket of 2024 on Tuesday, December 31, at 12:34 a.m. EST (0534 GMT). The rocket will carry 21 Starlink broadband internet satellites, including 13 with direct-to-cell capability, from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The launch marks SpaceX’s 134th Falcon flight of the year, surpassing last year’s total by 38 missions. This mission is part of a growing Starlink constellation, which now has over 6,850 active satellites in orbit.
A live webcast of the launch will be available on SpaceX’s website and social media platforms. The rocket’s first stage will return to Earth about eight minutes after liftoff, landing on board the droneship “Just Read the Instructions” in the Atlantic Ocean.
