SpaceX Launches Record-Breaking Rocket into Atmosphere

SpaceX launched a record-setting rocket from Cape Canaveral early Saturday, sending it soaring up through the clouds with 21 Starlink satellites on board. The rocket’s first-stage booster then landed successfully on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean just over eight minutes later.

This was the rocket’s 26th flight, marking another milestone in SpaceX’s efforts to push reusability to new heights. The Falcon 9 booster has previously powered multiple previous missions, including Starlink launches and crewed spaceflight flights.

The next SpaceX launch is set for Tuesday at 6 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40, with a batch of new Starlink satellites on board. This will mark the first time a Falcon 9 lands on a drone ship stationed off the coast of the Bahamas.
