SpaceX has confirmed the successful deployment of its latest batch of Starlink V2 Mini satellites into low Earth orbit. The mission, dubbed Starlink 12-24, launched on Tuesday morning from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The launch took place during a four-hour window with favorable weather conditions expected, although the forecast later deteriorated to a 70% chance of showers in the early afternoon. Despite this, the Falcon 9 rocket was able to land successfully on droneship “Just Read the Instructions” just over eight minutes after liftoff.
The Falcon 9 rocket carried 23 Starlink V2 Mini satellites, with 13 equipped with direct-to-cell capabilities. This is SpaceX’s 260th launch of DTC-capable satellites this year alone. The successful deployment marks an important milestone for the company’s efforts to provide global internet connectivity through its satellite network.
