SpaceX Postpones Starlink Launch Amid Favorable Weather

SpaceX has delayed its launch of a batch of new Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station due to a change in weather conditions. The original launch time was set for 5:45 a.m. EST, but it has been pushed back to 8:21 a.m. EST.

The 45th Weather Squadron reports an 85% chance of favorable weather at liftoff, with cumulus clouds and thick clouds being tracked as potential issues. Meteorologists expect breezy conditions with gusts around 20 mph possible, making the launch window slightly less favorable.

This launch will mark the 18th flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster, which has previously supported various missions including Starlink, Ovzon-3, and Intelsat 40e. The rocket is expected to land on the SpaceX droneship “Just Read the Instructions” within eight minutes of liftoff, marking the 97th successful landing and the 368th overall.

Live coverage will be available from Spaceflight Now starting about an hour before liftoff.
