SpaceX plans to launch its Starlink 6-72 mission from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40 tonight, with a planned liftoff time between 10:40 p.m. and 3:11 a.m. The Falcon 9 rocket will carry the latest batch of internet satellites, designed to provide internet access to remote areas.
The launch will not produce sonic booms, and the first stage booster will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean eight-and-a-half minutes after liftoff. SpaceX has not yet confirmed its exact timing, but weather conditions at the launch site are expected to play a role in determining the launch window.
Florida residents can expect live coverage of the launch on Floridatoday.com/Space, starting 90 minutes prior to liftoff.
