Spanish Authorities Bust Animal Breeding Facility

Spanish authorities have discovered a hidden animal breeding facility in Meson do Vento, Ordes, containing the remains of 250 animals and 171 live endangered species. The warehouse manager has been detained for alleged animal abuse and faces charges related to veterinary medicine and protected species.

Among the dead animals were mostly dogs and birds, including Chihuahuas, while some living creatures fed on their remains due to lack of food. Exotic birds, dwarf horses, chinchillas, chickens, and ducks were among those found alive. The facility’s kennels and cages were infested with excrement, posing a threat to the remaining animals.

The discovery is part of several animal trafficking rings busted by Spanish authorities this year, including one involving over 150 exotic species and an unlicensed pet store in Nules.
