Miles Morales’ big-screen return delayed but now set for June 2027.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the next installment in Sony’s award-winning animated series, has been rescheduled to hit theaters on June 4, 2027. The film was initially slated for a release date of 2204 before being removed from the schedule following its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
The news was revealed during a teaser trailer shown at CinemaCon 2025. The trailer showcased an array of vibrant colors and shapes reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey, interweaving images and audio cues from the first two films. The preview concluded with brief glimpses into the new film, including Miles Morales facing off against the Prowler and the Spot.
Producers Phil Lord, Bob Persichetti, and Justin K. Thompson emphasized that Beyond will feature enhanced styles and innovations, building upon the momentum of its predecessors. The delay, they explained, was a deliberate decision made for optimal creative purposes. With this announcement, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the highly anticipated sequel.
