A wild brawl broke out at a Spirit Airlines gate in Atlanta, leaving more than half a dozen people injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday, just one day before the airline’s restructuring plan was approved by a U.S. bankruptcy judge.
The fight took place outside the gate at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and involved passengers who were waiting to board their flights. Witnesses reported seeing punching and kicking, with one woman even jumping over a seat to get involved in the altercation.
Atlanta police responded to reports of the brawl, but by the time they arrived, those involved had already dispersed. No arrests were made, and it’s unclear what started the fight or what happened to the passengers who were captured on video.
The incident has raised questions about airport security, particularly at one of the world’s busiest airports. Despite increased measures in place, such as metal detectors and body scanners, it appears that some passengers are still able to engage in violent behavior without consequences.
