Nintendo has announced a new Splatoon spinoff game, titled Splatoon Raiders, which will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. The third-person paint-slinging shooter is set to take players to the Spirhalite Islands and will feature a single-player experience with a focus on exploration.
According to the trailer, players will take on the role of a mechanic alongside Deep Cut, a fictional band in the Splatoon universe. While details are scarce at this stage, the game’s release may be followed by potential releases on additional consoles.
In other news, Nintendo has confirmed an update for Splatoon 3 version 10.0, which will be available on June 12 for both Switch and Switch 2 consoles. The update includes new weapons from Barazushi and Emberz brands, as well as improved matchmaking with the introduction of a Series Weapon Power metric.
This update also brings back Urchin Underpass, a popular multiplayer map from the original Splatoon game, with enhanced visuals and performance on Switch 2 players. With over 30 million copies sold worldwide, Nintendo’s Splatoon franchise remains one of its star properties.
