Spotify Pushes Back Against Drake’s Allegations About Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us

Spotify has fired back at claims made by Drake in a legal filing last month that Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us was “artificially inflated”. The streaming giant responded to Drake’s allegations, which accused Universal Music Group of artificially boosting streaming numbers for the diss track.

Drake’s petition claimed that UMG used bots and other methods to inflate Not Like Us’ streaming numbers. However, Spotify disputes this claim, stating that it has no economic incentive to promote one artist over another.

Spotify also released an Opposition Brief and affirmation in support of the brief, which argues that Drake’s allegations are “legally deficient” and should be denied.

The two parties involved, Universal Music Group and Spotify, have been engaged in a heated dispute since last month when Drake accused UMG of artificially inflating Not Like Us’ streaming numbers. This new development shows that Spotify is standing firm against these allegations, stating that it invests heavily in automated and manual reviews to prevent artificial streaming manipulation.

The feud between the two parties has sparked a bitter rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The two artists released their diss tracks, including Euphoria and Meet The Grahams, which are part of a series of three diss tracks.

Spotify’s move comes as lawyers for Drake have filed another legal petition against UMG in Texas, this time claiming that UMG designed a plan to turn Not Like Us into a viral mega-hit.
