Spurrier Believes Jayden Daniels Could Win 2024 NFL MVP

Former USC Coach Steve Spurrier has thrown his support behind Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, saying he could win the 2024 NFL MVP Award. Daniels is a standout rookie signal-caller who has exceeded expectations with impressive passing and rushing numbers.

In an interview on “Another Dooley Noted Podcast,” Spurrier praised Daniels, calling him “some player.” Daniels’ performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16 was particularly notable, as he threw for 258 yards and five touchdowns while also adding 81 rushing yards. This feat is only accomplished by a handful of quarterbacks in NFL history.

Spurrier’s endorsement comes after Daniels continued to impress on the field, earning praise from head coach Dan Quinn. With several players vying for the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, Daniels’ chances of winning could be significant if he maintains his current level of performance throughout the season.
