Squid Game Returns with Season 2 on December 26

Squid Game, the hit South Korean drama, is back for its highly anticipated second season. The popular show returns with new episodes this week, and fans are eager to find out when exactly it premieres on Netflix.

The next chapter of Squid Game follows former winner Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) as he returns to the arena three years after winning the 45.6 billion won prize. This time, he’s not just competing for money or fighting to survive – he’s on a mission to put an end to the deadly game once and for all.

The show welcomes back some familiar faces, including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. New additions include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.

The first season of Squid Game earned six Primetime Emmy Awards, including a historic win for director Hwang Dong-hyuk. The show’s success has been unprecedented, with fans worldwide eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Squid Game Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, December 26, at 3 a.m. ET / midnight PT on Netflix. The new season consists of seven episodes, which is two fewer than the nine episodes in the first season. However, the show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, revealed that he wrote both seasons consecutively and decided to end Season 2 at episode 7 as a natural break point.

To watch Squid Game Season 2, you’ll need to sign up for a Netflix membership. The streamer offers three options: Standard with ads ($6.99/month), standard (no ads) ($15.49/month), and premium (no ads) ($22.99/month).
