SRT Revived: Stellantis Brings Back High-Performance Division

Stellantis has revived its Street and Racing Technology (SRT) division, uniting performance efforts across American brands Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram under the leadership of Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram. The revived SRT brand promises a new era of factory-built horsepower and street-and-track engineering prowess.

Kuniskis, who previously left his role as CEO of Ram to focus on Stellantis’s performance strategy, has been appointed head of American brands and North America marketing and retail strategy for the company. As part of this new role, he will oversee SRT, which aims to push boundaries across powertrain, aerodynamics, handling, and tech.

SRT was initially formed in 2004 as a result of Chrysler’s Performance Vehicle Operations high-performance division. Over the years, it has been responsible for some of the most iconic American muscle cars, including the Dodge Viper and Ram SRT-10. The brand was quietly phased out in recent years but is now making its comeback.

Under Kuniskis’ leadership, enthusiasts can expect to see performance variants across the full Stellantis American portfolio, from off-road monsters to dragstrip-bruising sedans and coupes. Direct Connection, Dodge’s performance parts and tuning division, will also play a key role in expanding its tuner catalog and racing involvement.

The revival of SRT marks a bold recommitment to enthusiast culture at a time when electrification and regulatory pressures are affecting the future of internal-combustion performance. With Kuniskis at the helm, fans can expect outrageous horsepower, bold branding, and unapologetically American muscle – perhaps with some electrified twists.

The new SRT era promises to be exciting, and with no specific vehicles announced yet, enthusiasts will have to wait and see what’s in store. One thing is certain, however: Stellantis is getting the band back together, and the music of high-performance cars is about to get louder than ever before.
