The US Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) will host a news conference on May 28 to discuss the upcoming Global Positioning System (GPS) III-7 (SV08) mission. The launch is scheduled for Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, and will be carried out by SpaceX using a Falcon 9 rocket.
During the event, SSC representatives, along with industry partners Lockheed Martin and SpaceX, will provide details on the upcoming launch. A question-and-answer segment will also be held, allowing media to seek clarification on key aspects of the mission.
The Assured Access To Space (AATS) program, managed by SSC, plays a crucial role in securing reliable and responsive launch services for US warfighters and allies. This program delivers essential space-based capabilities, including servicing, mobility, and logistics support.
SSC is responsible for acquiring, developing, and delivering resilient space capabilities to counter emerging threats and protect the nation’s strategic advantage in space. The organization manages a $15.6 billion annual space acquisition budget and works with joint forces, industry partners, government agencies, academia, and allied nations to achieve its objectives.
Media representatives can RSVP to attend the teleconference by May 27 and submit advance questions via email to [email protected].
