In the Heart of Chornobyl mission in STALKER 2, players are faced with a tough decision when it comes to choosing between two characters: the Ninth and Dew. The Ninth is a Monolith soldier who has taken in Mastiff, a zombie mutant, and nurses him back to health, while Dew is a hired gun convinced that any Monolithian is a threat.
If you choose to side with the Ninth, you’ll need to defend him from Dew’s forces, which can be a challenging fight. Afterward, you’ll receive information about the Ninth’s faction and an upgrade blueprint, allowing you to improve certain equipment at Technicians.
On the other hand, if you choose to side with Dew, you’ll have to fight the Ninth, who has more health than Dew’s forces but less loot upon defeat. However, completing this quest will reward you with double coupons from Lens, making it a lucrative option.
Unfortunately, there is no non-violent way to resolve the situation between Dew and the Ninth, as both characters seem determined to clash. The dialogue route won’t save anyone, and one party must ultimately be defeated.
In this mission, players must weigh the benefits of choosing Dew against the potential risks of siding with the Ninth. With multiple endings and varying rewards, the Lost Boys quest in STALKER 2 offers a complex decision that will test players’ strategic thinking.
