Stalker 2 Receives First Post-Launch Patch with Bug Fixes and Improvements

GSC Game World, the developer of post-apocalyptic first-person horror shooter Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has released its first post-launch patch. The update aims to fix various bugs and crashes that have plagued the game since its launch last week.

The patch includes several key fixes, such as crash fixes for issues with rendering, skeletal meshes, and quest-related cutscenes. Main quest progression has also been improved, including fixes for NPCs getting stuck in objects, incorrect quest markers, and issues with quest cutscenes.

In addition to bug fixes, the update makes adjustments to gameplay and balance, including fixing the price of upgraded weapons. The patch also includes improvements to NPC behavior, such as how they act when lacking a shelter during the Emissions.

Visual fixes have been made, including rare facial animations, misplaced NPCs, and visual inconsistencies like detached heads and clothes clipping. Quality and stability improvements have also been applied to visual effects.

Softlock fixes have been included, which address issues where players couldn’t close the trade screen after putting ammo in a wrong slot while playing on a gamepad. User interface improvements have also been made, including correct quest notifications during dialogues and corrected texts.

The patch notes also mention that future updates will include bugfixes for analogue stick dead zones and A-Life system bugs, as well as free in-game content to be shared later in December.
