Ubisoft has confirmed that its upcoming space adventure, Star Wars: Outlaws, will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, rather than as a launch title in June. The game, set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, follows Kay Vess, a small-time criminal with a death mark from a cartel against her name.
The game received a 7-star review, praising its fun intergalactic heist adventure and exploration, but criticizing its simple stealth mechanics and repetitive combat. The news was announced during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also revealed the second story pack, A Pirate’s Fortune, set to release on May 15.
The game’s delay is attributed to Nintendo’s assessment of the impact of new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration, which has left some American and Canadian gamers in pre-order limbo. Despite this, fans can now update their Switch 2 games list with the addition of Star Wars: Outlaws.
