Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Confirmed Timeline Spot

Disney Plus’ live-action Star Wars show “Skeleton Crew” has confirmed its place in the post-Return of the Jedi era, but creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford have not yet decided on an exact date for its story. The series takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi, placing it alongside other Disney Plus shows like The Mandalorian. However, the show’s creators will remain flexible to accommodate the characters’ ages as they grow in real life.

Watts stated that the timing was chosen because it allows kids to “get lost” in the galaxy without adults being able to intervene, while also acknowledging the uncertainty and danger of a galaxy where no one can help them. This era is around the same time period as other recent Star Wars shows like The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Star Wars: Ahsoka.

The show’s creators left room for flexibility in case future seasons reveal an exact date for Skeleton Crew’s timeline. With several crossover possibilities already under development, including a potential finale movie that will bring together characters from various post-Return of the Jedi shows, fans can look forward to exciting crossovers and team-ups with Din Djarin, Grogu, Ahsoka Tano, and others.

While Watts and Ford refused to confirm whether their five main characters would join forces with previously mentioned heroes, they teased that such a scenario would be “exciting” and allow for the telling of their characters’ growth and development.
