Starbucks is facing challenges, including declining sales and a loss of customer goodwill. To turn things around, the company brought in new leadership, Brian Niccol, who has stated that its problems are fixable with efforts within their control.
However, Starbucks recently announced it will be laying off 1,100 corporate employees globally as part of its solution. The company also plans to cut 13 “less popular beverages” from its menu due to low sales and complexity in preparation.
The drinks being discontinued include Iced Matcha Lemonade, Espresso Frappuccino, Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino, Java Chip Frappuccino, White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino, Chai Crème Frappuccino, Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino, Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino, Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino, White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino, White Hot Chocolate, Royal English Breakfast Latte, and Honey Almondmilk Flat White.
The company plans to further reduce its menu offerings, aiming for a 30% decrease by the end of 2025. This move is part of their efforts to improve the in-store experience and reduce wait times.
