A stunning celestial sight is available for stargazers this week. On March 2nd, at 19:00 GMT, look west over London to witness a breathtaking view of Venus in Pisces, a faint constellation. The moon will be just three days old with only 10% of its surface illuminated.
Venus will remain visible and impressive despite being on the wane. Meanwhile, Mercury may also be spotted above the horizon about 20-30 minutes after sunset, although it is fainter than Venus.
For optimal viewing in the northern hemisphere, head out at sunset to catch this rare alignment. However, those in the southern hemisphere face a challenge due to the more southerly positioning of these celestial bodies.
