Steam has introduced a warning system to alert users when early access games have been abandoned by their developers. The change aims to prevent players from picking up deceased games and support developers with unrealistic expectations.
Under the new system, games that haven’t seen an update in over 12 months will display a highlighted note at the top of their store page. This warning indicates that the information provided by the developer may no longer be accurate.
The new feature is available for most early access games, but it appears to have some limitations. For example, games with recent updates are not subject to this warning, even if they don’t receive regular updates.
Valve has announced plans to revise the system in response to user feedback.
