SteamOS 3.6.21 Stable Release Brings Fixes and Support for New Controller

Valve has released SteamOS 3.6.21 as stable for the Steam Deck, addressing various bugs and security concerns. The updates include fixes for issues with character rendering in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, support for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller, and patches for Linux kernel CVE-2024-50089, mpg123 CVE-2024-10573, and libarchive CVE-2024-20696.

The update also brings improved Bluetooth support, which was already functional with the dongle. However, it’s unclear if this patch affects other games or applications that rely on character rendering fixes. The Steam Input feature still does not support the top buttons on the new controller, as they are handled through 8BitDo software.

With these updates, Valve aims to provide a more stable experience for Steam Deck users.
