Steelers’ Chris Boswell Seeks New Contract Amid Negotiation Deadline

Steelers kicker Chris Boswell is seeking a new contract from the team, ESPN reports. Unlike defensive lineman Cam Heyward, Boswell has been active in practice but expressed dissatisfaction with his current deal.

Boswell signed a four-year extension in 2022 worth $20.5 million, earning him All-Pro honors despite being the lowest-paid kicker in the AFC North last season. However, he now ranks 11th among kickers by average salary, behind Harrison Butker’s $6.4 million per year.

Boswell’s current deal runs through 2026 with no guaranteed money remaining. His impressive career stats include a 88% field goal success rate and 95.4% extra point accuracy over his 10-year tenure. With the Steelers’ pre-season negotiations policy, time is running out for both Boswell and Heyward to secure new contracts.
