The Pittsburgh Steelers have drafted Ohio State quarterback Will Howard in the sixth round of the NFL draft. This move marks another significant development on the team’s quarterback depth chart, which already features Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph, and Skylar Thompson.
Howard, a native of Pennsylvania, spent four seasons at Kansas State before transferring to Ohio State for his final college year. In his lone season with the Buckeyes, he posted impressive numbers: 73% completion rate, 4,010 yards passing, and 35 touchdowns, earning him offensive MVP honors in the national championship game.
Throughout his five-year college career, Howard accumulated significant stats, throwing for 9,796 yards, 83 touchdowns, and 35 interceptions, while also rushing for 1,147 yards and 26 touchdowns. The Steelers’ selection of Howard adds depth to their quarterback corps as they prepare for the upcoming season.
