Stellantis has denied selling Dodge Ram 1500 trucks to Russia, which were allegedly used in a propaganda video showing mass production of Shahed-type strike drones. The company claims it has not been cooperating with Russia since 2022 and has suspended its manufacturing operations in the country.
In response to reports by Le Parisien, Stellantis stated that all vehicle sales to Russia are banned for all distribution channels. However, regarding unauthorized resales by third parties, the group refused to comment.
According to economist Dimitris Uzunidis, Moscow is circumventing the embargo through countries like Georgia, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. Vehicles allegedly transit through these countries before being transported to Russia, either legally or through smuggling.
The video in question showed drones launched from pickup trucks manufactured by Stellantis’ Ram brand, fueling concerns over Russia’s increasing drone attacks on Ukraine.
