Stripe Cuts 300 Jobs, Plans 17% Headcount Increase

Payments company Stripe has reduced its workforce by about 3.5% with the cut of 300 jobs, mostly affecting employees in product, engineering, and operations. Despite this reduction, Stripe plans to expand its headcount by 10,000, a 17% increase, according to Chief People Office Rob McIntosh’s memo to staff. The company remains committed to hiring, with no indications of slowing down. Notably, an email mistake led to incorrect termination dates being sent to some laid-off employees, but corrected notifications have since been issued.
