A recent study published in The Lancet Psychiatry has found that stimulant drugs and atomoxetine are the most effective treatment options for managing adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms. Combining data from over 14,800 participants across 113 trials, researchers concluded that stimulants significantly reduced symptoms, as rated by both patients and healthcare professionals. This breakthrough finding reverses previous perceptions of ADHD as a childhood condition, now recognized to affect up to 4% of the UK’s adult population.
