Obesity rates are relatively low among hunter-gatherer communities in Tanzania, Bolivia, Siberia, and other less-developed nations. However, obesity is a significant issue in more affluent, industrialized countries.
A recent study is challenging the conventional understanding of obesity’s causes. Many experts had long believed that lack of physical activity and excessive calorie consumption were the primary contributors to obesity. But new research suggests otherwise.
The study reveals that inactivity is not the main cause of obesity, contradicting widespread assumptions. Instead, it highlights other factors contributing to this complex issue.
