The highly-anticipated spinoff “Suits LA” is set to premiere on February 23, following a devastating wildfire that destroyed much of the Pacific Palisades and Altadena six weeks prior. Initially planned to be shot in Vancouver with an initial LA setting, production shifted to L.A. after securing a state tax credit.
The show’s creator, Aaron Korsh, revealed that he is trying to incorporate real Los Angeles locations into each episode to bring authenticity to the city as a character. The law offices are located in Century City, and characters frequently visit iconic spots like Musso and Frank in Hollywood.
Star Stephen Amell plays attorney Ted Black, whose firm deals with criminal and entertainment law, often representing real-life celebrities. He praised working in Los Angeles, saying it allows him to appreciate the history of the Universal Studios lot, where filming takes place.
The show’s cast, including Bryan Greenberg, Josh McDermitt, Kevin Weisman, Azita Ghanizada, Kristen Hager, and Lex Scott Davis, also shared their enthusiasm for the project. They highlighted the importance of bringing Los Angeles back to its “golden age” through production and celebrated the city’s resilience.
Creator Korsh reassured fans that the show will maintain the same writing style and storytelling sensibility as the original series but with new characters and a different location. Character appearances from the original series, including Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter for three episodes, were confirmed, adding to the excitement for the spinoff’s premiere.
