Hulu’s new original comedy film “Summer of 69” is set to premiere later this year, featuring a star-studded cast including Chloe Fineman, Charlie Day, Liza Koshy, and Nicole Byer. The film follows the story of Sam Morelos, played by Sam Morelos, who makes a bold move after overhearing his crush’s favorite sexual position.
Directed by Jillian Bell in her directorial debut, the movie explores themes of self-discovery and patience. Bell described the experience of directing as “giving birth in front of everyone,” highlighting the need to balance creative freedom with the pressure of meeting deadlines.
Fineman plays the role of Santa Monica, a local stripper who serves as Sam’s sex coach. The film also features cameos from Paula Pell (“Dream Productions”) and Nicole Byer.
Bell hopes that the coming-of-age story encourages viewers to take their time in exploring their identities. “Summer of 69” had its world premiere at SXSW 2025 and will be available on Hulu later this year.
