SunFed Recalls Salmonella-Contaminated Cucumbers Due to Foodborne Illness Risk

US-based produce company SunFed Produce, LLC is recalling all sizes of whole fresh American cucumbers due to potential contamination with Salmonella. The affected products were sold between October 12, 2024, and November 26, 2024, in various states across the US and Canada.

Salmonella can cause serious infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, infection can lead to bloodstream complications like arthritis, endocarditis, and arterial infections.

Consumers are advised not to consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute the recalled products. They should also clean and sanitize surfaces that came into contact with the affected cucumbers to prevent cross-contamination. Recalled products should be discarded immediately.

If you have purchased the recalled cucumbers and are unsure if they are contaminated, contact your retailer or SunFed’s recall hotline at (888) 542-5849 for additional information.
