The Phoenix Suns have bolstered their roster by acquiring three draft picks from the Utah Jazz in exchange for a first-round pick in 2031. The deal, which was facilitated by ESPN’s Shams Charania, gives the Suns more tradable assets ahead of the February 6 trade deadline.
Phoenix is believed to be active in the trade market as it seeks to capitalize on the primes of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker while upgrading its roster. A reported interest in Jimmy Butler has led to speculation that the Suns could make a move for the Miami Heat forward, who has requested a trade.
The Jazz, meanwhile, have shed some of their draft pick assets, bringing their total to 11 first-round picks over the next seven years. The deal is seen as a significant investment by Utah, with ESPN suggesting they felt comfortable parting ways with three picks in exchange for Phoenix’s unprotected 2031 first-round pick.
