This year’s Super Bowl is more than just a football game – it’s also a national food holiday. According to Google, different states have unique favorite chicken wing flavors and styles. In six states, Buffalo wings reign supreme, while in another state, cauliflower version takes the top spot.
Air-fried wings dominate in six states, with smoked wings in four and garlic parmesan wings in three. In Louisiana, the most searched type is “mango habanero.” Google analyzed searches for chicken wing flavors and styles before the Super Bowl to find these trends.
Game day dip preferences also vary by state. Buffalo chicken dip wins in the highest number of states, both locally and nationwide. Interestingly, Philly cheesesteak dip tops California’s search list but not Pennsylvania’s. Texas favorites cranberry jalapeƱo dip.
Top super bowl appetizers in US include Philly cheesesteak sliders, Hawaiian roll sliders, pigs in a blanket, cowboy caviar, and potato skin. Cocktail trends feature jungle juice, old fashioneds, margaritas, espresso martinis, and New Orleans specialty Sazerac. The Google team hopes this data inspires people to try new recipes this year.
