Nintendo has announced that the first post-launch addition to its upcoming Switch 2 console will be a classic GameCube title – Super Mario Strikers. The game will join other titles like Soulcalibur 2, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and F-Zero GX on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service starting July 3.
Originally released in 2005, Super Mario Strikers was designed to offer a fun and fast-paced soccer experience with power-ups and an all-star cast of Mario characters. While it didn’t achieve massive success like other games, it remains a popular choice for local multiplayer. The game’s unique gameplay style involves shoving players out of possession and scoring double goals.
Seven more titles are set to be added to the Switch 2 GameCube library in the coming months, including Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Chibi-Robo!, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokémon Colosseum.
