Super Mario Strikers Returns to Nintendo GameCube via Nintendo Switch

Nintendo is set to bring back the classic soccer game, Super Mario Strikers, on July 3 for the Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics library. The game will be available to play with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

Super Mario Strikers was originally released in 2005 and is known for its fast-paced gameplay and chaotic matches. Players can choose from iconic characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi to compete against each other. The game features various modes, including Grudge Match, Cup Battles, and Custom Battles.

One unique feature of the game is the Super Strike, a powerful shot that can net two points at once. To win, players must hone their techniques, deal out big hits, and use items like shells and mushrooms to gain an advantage.

A special controller designed after the original Nintendo GameCube controller will be available for purchase with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The controller features modern features like the C-Button, which can open GameChat.

The game is part of the Nintendo Classics library on the Nintendo Switch 2 system, and players who have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership can access it. Nintendo Switch Online members will also receive upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

The game’s return marks an exciting addition to the Nintendo Classics library, offering nostalgic gamers a chance to relive classic moments.
