James Gunn, the writer and director of the upcoming Superman film, has released a teaser for the debut trailer ahead of its release tomorrow, December 19. The brief clip offers a glimpse into the Man of Steel’s action-packed world.
The Superman teaser shows two shots of Clark Kent in action: one flying towards a snowy structure, and another breaking the sound barrier as he speeds through the air. The score is reimagined with a fresh take on John Williams’ iconic theme.
The Daily Planet, where Clark Kent works alongside Lois Lane, is also featured in the teaser. IGN’s interview with James Gunn reveals new details about his vision for the film, including the world-ending event that sets the story in motion and Superman’s role in saving the day.
The film, titled Superman, hits theaters on July 11, 2025, as part of DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
