The season has come to a close, and Survivor Season 47 has crowned its winner. After a highly competitive two-part finale, Rachel LaMont took home the coveted $1 million prize. The four remaining castaways, including Christine “Teeny” Chiricillo, Sam Phalen, Susan “Sue” Smey, and Rachel, competed one last time for immunity.
Rachel secured a spot in the Final 3 by winning individual immunity, beating out her fellow tribe members Sue and Teeny. In the final fire competition, Sam won, securing his place in the Final 3 alongside Rachel and Sue. However, it was not enough to save him from elimination.
In the end, only three castaways made their case to the jury to win the ultimate prize: Rachel, Sue, and Sam. The jury consisted of Sierra Wright, Solomon “Sol” Yi, Gabriel “Gabe” Ortis, Kyle Ostwald, Carolina Vidmar, Andrew “Andy” Rueda, Genevieve Mushaluk, and Christine “Teeny” Chiricillo.
When the votes were tallied, Rachel won with seven jury members voting for her. Sam was the runner-up, receiving one vote from Sol. Sue did not receive any votes, making her the 2nd runner-up.
The outcome has sparked controversy among fans, with some expressing disappointment and feeling that the jury made a mistake. However, others have praised Teeny’s honesty and willingness to expose herself on reality television. Despite the mixed reactions, Rachel is now $1 million richer, cementing her place in Survivor history.
